About the Artist

My name is Beth and I am the creator and artisan of Classic Creations Painting, making my home in the metro St. Louis area. A little history: 25 years ago my dreams and aspirations were not of climbing ladders and crawling about floors in paint stained jeans. I graduated with a BS in Accounting, fully intending to conquer any office that I stepped into with my newly acquired business skills, and for years did just that. After marrying and moving about the Midwest however – life happened. You could say my interest in faux finishing was born over years and years of turning our many ‘houses into homes’. My overwhelming desire to have elegant, warm and welcoming homes became the catalyst for creating this passion and natural love for faux finishing and design.

I was very much a Do-It-Yourselfer for quite some time. Wanting to learn as much as I could about the world of fine faux painting though, I decided to take it to the next level and seek out formal classroom training. I have trained here in the Midwest as well as on the West Coast, taking many professional classes and not only earning the certificates that go with them, but gaining many valuable friendships and technical resources along the way. I am an active member of the professional decorative painting organization, IDAL (International Decorative Artisans League) along with the local faux painting chapter MAG (Metro Artisans Guild). My training and certifications include wall glazing, plaster finishes, texture finishes, metallics, faux bois (wood graining), faux marbling, Trompe-l’œil, stenciling and color theory. I have also been trained in fine furniture finishes. Through continuing education I am able to provide my clients with sophisticated ideas that are on the cutting edge of the faux industry.
